Silicone breast implant surgery for many women do to enlarge the size of her chest. But this carries potential health risks, especially if silicone rupture. What happens when silicone breast broken?
The major problem associated with silicone breast implant rupture is the formation of scar tissue in the breast. If the rupture of silicone is not resolved, then the resulting scar tissue can cause pain and changes in contour or shape of the breast.
When breast implants are placed in the body of a woman, the fibrous capsule will form scar tissue around the breast implant.
But if silicone breast implants are broken or damaged, as reported by the Mayo Clinic, Tuesday (28/12/2010) there will be leakage of silicone gel that can cause inflammation of the fibrous capsule.
This situation also triggered the formation of additional scar tissue, which may cause distortion of the breasts around the implant, there is pain and discomfort.
Most women do not have and recognize the signs or symptoms that occur when silicone breast implants rupture. And sometimes there are symptoms that arise, such as:
1. Pain, burning, tingling, swelling, numbness or redness
2. on silicone breast implant rupture.
3. A lump or something hard in the vicinity of the implant or armpit.
4. There is change the shape or size of the breast.
5. Breasts become more flabby or just experiencing hardening.
If someone is having one or more of these symptoms, you should immediately consult a physician. The condition of a ruptured silicone breast implants can be known through a screening mammogram, ultrasound, CT scan or MRI of the breast.
If silicon is already broken or damaged, the treatment performed, including surgical removal of implants and scar tissue. However, if the breast is very damaged condition, it is likely the doctor will perform surgical removal of the breast.
The important thing to note is that silicone breast implants can not be guaranteed safety for life, therefore require monitoring and regular breast examination if it is more than 3 years
